Honda VTEC Spaceframe Mini

In 2007 i started to compete in the Auto 66 sprint championship.  This soon gained interest from other club members and by the end of the year i had been joined by Allan MacDonald.  Not any Allan McD but the twice winner of the cock of the north road races and 7th on the Isles of Man TT races.

By 2008 we had been joined by 2 other club members, Andy S and Smurfy.  Racing got off to a good start but happenings happened.  During the first practice of a 3 day event i managed to get crossed up exiting a chicane, punching the nose of the car through a fence.  On the last race of the 3 day event, Smurfy tried a one point turn from 90mph.  Again the fence took a battering but not as much as his car did.

With all the bad luck out of the way we could only get better, wrong!!!.  At the last event of the year Andy S failed to avoid a straw bale which jumped out of nowhere and barrel rolled the mini into a ball.  The in-car video footage should be good, had the camera been fitted in the right way up to start with!!!!.

More members are joining us in 2009  for some fierce driving, drinking, camping, crashing and P*&s taking.  Come and join us, spectators are always welcome.

2009 saw the championship gaining more members and different engine types, Wecome to Richard in a very tidy, quick, retro looking K series.

2009 also saw the 1st ever 16v trackday organised by the 16v sprint lads.  It took place at Barkston Heath and saw about 25 hybrid  cars and was covered by miniworld.

The 2009 sprint championship was again the flying scotsman Allan McDonald.  Not only beating his own times but we also saw him break class records and win FTD against single seaters, well done again Allan.
